In an effort to go green and save tax payer dollars, starting this fall, all Medicare beneficiaries that sign up on www.mymedicare.govby May 31, 2009 will get their Medicare and You handbooks electronically in October. For more information you can Click Here
Those that miss the cut off date can still sign up but will get their handbooks electronically starting fall of 2010.

Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP, Inc.)
MMAP, Inc. is Michigan's SHIP, a State Health Insurance Assistance Program.

MMAP, Inc.is funded by a grant from the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging through funding received from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

A MMAP counselor can help you:

• Understand Medicare and Medicaid
• Compare or enroll in Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Medicare Part D)
• Review your Medicare supplemental insurance needs
• Understand Medicare health plans
• Apply for Medicaid or a Medicare Savings Program
• Report identity theft, Medicare and Medicaid fraud/abuse, or scams
• Explore long terms care insurance options

Call toll-free 1-800-803-7174 or 231-733-3572. You can speak with a MMAP counselor by telephone. You can schedule an appointment to meet in person. If you are homebound, a counselor will meet you where you live.
